Do not grieve for me, when you hear the news that I have gone.
Rather rejoice, for I have met the One I longed for all my life. |

One Song. I have but one song,
one song only for you.
One heart tenderly beating,
ever entreating,
constant and true.
One Love, that has possessed me,
thrilling me through.
One Song my heart keeps singing,
one love only for you.
Some day when spring is here,
we'll find our Love anew.
And the birds will sing,
and wedding bells will ring,
some day when my dreams come true.
In the public domain, 1985.
from Snow White, by Walt Disney, 1937.
Once in the country of Orange, on the western coast of a magic land there lived the Tin Knight. T.K. was his name. He was a godly and gentle man who loved a young maiden named Truth, from La-la land, whom he had courted and wed, and who lived with him in a little castle down the lane. |

There is a little known curse that comes with teaching Critical Thought. It
is especially bad if you also teach History. It is that your thoughts do not
always go where you want them to. Sometimes they bring you to conclusions
that you would rather not think about.

And now the purple dusk of twilight time
Steals across the meadows of my heart
High up in the sky the little stars climb
Always reminding me that we're apart
You wander down the lane and far away
Leaving me a song that will not die
Love is now the stardust of yesterday
The music of the years gone by
STARDUST

Get to the Back of the Bus - Mac Segregation
I am having a very unusual computing experience here and now. I
loaned my old reliable Mac 8500 to my son to do an animation, and
then my trusty Mac 7100 went south on me late last week. Horrors!
I have not been without a Mac for a number of years. This situation would be a great excuse to go out and buy that
iMac I want, but for now it is not to be. -So here I am sitting
(ahem...) at a borrowed Windoze PC to write on, and to check
my email. In the process I am finding out a few minor revelations
about being a Mac user. |

BEAUTY OUT OF ASHES AND SHAME
KENNEDY MEADOWS FIRE. Nothing big. Lots of empty mountain forests, lakes and a scenic river. Thousands of acres burned. The State did not think it significant enough to send firefighters. Wildlife, wild horses, historic sites - all gone. We live over the mountain on the desert side, a long ways off to the East. Those twenty days it burned made the most beautiful of sunsets. Great, glorious beauty in the fall of the evening from all that death and destruction. |

PAY ATTENTION!
I am about to accurately predict the next twenty-five years of computing.
SO TAKE NOTES, because I am not only going to do the predicting,
I will also show you how to do the same thing.
How, you say? Easy. Just be a student of history and
half-way pay attention to how things work. |

Ah. . . Hello. I am not from around here. How are you? You remember me? Yes?
Most fortunate for me! A few seconds ago, erm, six months ago, we took a walk among the atoms. That was most enjoyable being there where everything is in perfect symmetry in every direction. I think this publication you are reading (a Webzine?) still has the recording of that walk we took, in their archives somewhere. But now I have returned so that we can take a walk through the other end of the spectrum, which is the Universe. I romantically call this a walk among the stars, but it is much more than that.

We who love the Macintosh have been accused,
sometimes rightly so, of being sort of Johnny-One-Notes.
When you write for a Mac site on the Web, the Mac is
what you speak of. We do reviews of products for the Mac,
and we write about what the new Macs are like when they
come out. We are pretty good about defending our favorite
platform of choice: That's what we do.
